Safe Place for Newborns
Lakeview Hospital is a participant in the Safe Place for Newborns program. A parent, or someone the parents have entrusted an unwanted newborn to, can bring an unwanted newborn to Lakeview Hospital within 72 hours of birth for shelter, medical care and treatment. The person can tell any hospital employee that they want to leave the baby with Safe Place for Newborns - no questions asked. The person bringing the newborn to Lakeview is not required to provide any identifying information, and if the child is unharmed the police will not be notified.
